With the exception of release to law enforcement or child protection officials, the building administrator or other designated school official shall not suspend, dismiss or release a student before the end of the school day without a request from or notification to the parent/guardian. Telephone requests for early dismissal of a student shall be honored only if the caller can be positively identified as the student's parent or guardian.

If a parent or guardian cannot be contacted, the student will be kept in the regular school program, sick room, in-school suspension room or in any other supervised location in the school until the end of school or until the parent/guardian can be notified.
